FEATURED WORK
THE MOON IS IN AQUARIUS - SHORT FILM
The Moon Is In Aquarius is a short film written and directed by Jesse Kuba, who commissioned me to design two posters that highlight the films plot while echoing film poster styles from the 80’s and 90’s.
The film follows the main characters, Devante and Liz, who run into each other at a house party on a starry night in San Francisco. There is an instant attraction. They ditch the party to explore San Francisco. As the night goes on, they begin to fall in love with each other and the city.
CHILD OF THE SUN - SHORT FILM
In April 2022, I executively produced and directed my very first short film, entitled Child Of The Sun (based on a poem I wrote entitled the same) in collaboration with OW Productions (Octavious Webster), SeeYouOnTheWest (Kevin Parker), Shoot Dreamz (Quincy Perez), and Vidz by G (Dr. Gregory Jackson).
This short film was a passion project, that grew from my desire to create a visual poem after being inspired by Beyoncé’s visual album, Lemonade in 2016. I raised $6,600 to produce the film and utilized those funds to prioritize the supporting fellow Black Creatives in the creation of this piece. This project gave me first hand experience in being a film project lead and seeing a production through from start to finish, which include but was not limited to: writing, producing, location scouting, fundraising, wardrobe/props, post-production editing, audio production, screening planning, etc.
Child Of The Sun has been shown at the following Film Festivals:
2024 Telly Award - Motivational - Online
2x - Lift Off Global Film Festival 2022 - First-Time Filmmaker Sessions
London International Monthly Film Festival - October 2022 - Honorable Mention Award

RUNWAY MAGAZINE
As a continuation to the rebrand work I’d previously done, I worked with RUNWAY (formerly known as The Runway Project) as a creative consultant and copywriter to develop their 2019-2020 impact report in the form of a magazine. The piece shares the stories of resilience and care that the RUNWAY Family displayed amidst a rapidly changing world while also reflecting and celebrating the impact, lessons learned, and resilience of RUNWAY’s family of entrepreneurs over the two year span.
BLACK JOY PARADE - 2021
I worked with the Black Joy Parade (Oakland’s largest free event that celebrates the influence of black culture from the past, of the present, and in the future) once again to develop branded collateral for the 4th Annual Black Joy Parade. Due to the constraints of the COVID-19 and wanting to still empower the celebration of Black Joy throughout the community most events were held virtually and campaign work was installed around the city of Oakland.
This project included both digital and print deliverables such as promotional event flyers (social media, Eventbrite, & MailChimp), billboards, a bus wrap, a BART poster, Zoom backgrounds, website design layouts, and a wall mural installation.
ICONS AMONG US - A BLACK JOY PARADE X COMCAST CAMPAIGN
I was commissioned by Black Joy Parade to develop the brand identity and promotional assets for the ICONS Among Us campaign in partnership with Comcast to highlight the amazing work of today’s “unsung” Black heroes who are making a difference in their communities and throughout the Bay Area. This project entailed a logo design, promotional social media assets, and video elements for the celebration video.
BLACK JOY PARADE X RED BULL ARTIST LIFT OFF CAMPAIGN
I was commissioned by Black Joy Parade to develop the brand identity and promotional assets for their Artist Lift Off campaign in partnership with Red Bull to highlight four artists who were expressing themselves through mural artwork around Downtown Oakland as a result of the 2020 protests and Black Lives Matter Movement. This project entailed a logo design, 5x7 cards with a map of downtown Oakland, posters, and mock-ups for tote bags.
RUNWAY
In partnership with Bombilla Creative and Identafire, I worked with RUNWAY (formerly known as The Runway Project) as a brand strategist, copywriter and assistant web designer to develop their new brand identity. My scope of work on this project entailed: audience interviews, brainstorming on logo designs, developing the brand strategy and messaging guide, website copy and assisting on the website design on Squarespace.

THE SPACES WE’RE IN - BETTI ONO GALLERY & GOLD BEAMS
In celebration of the Betti Ono Gallery’s 10th year anniversary, I partnered with Betti Ono Gallery and Gold Beams to develop the anniversary logo and all of the graphics for their month of events entitled, “The Spaces We’re In: Centering The Safety Of Black And Brown Women.” These events examined radical ideas of safety, explored new ways to hold safe spaces, and used art to tell the stories of Black and Brown women, in all the spaces they are in.
BLACK UNSCRIPTED
I had the pleasure of working with Rachel Hardy on the short documentary film, Black Unscripted, as a creative consultant helping to flesh out the initial idea, coordinate and arrange the interview set, and design the official poster submitted to film festivals.
The short documentary film delves into blackness and racial identity by exploring how a limited, stereotypical view of blackness has scarred an entire community. Narrated through the personal stories of five individuals, we navigate painful, but positive discussions challenging all of us to break the cycle of placing limitations on blackness. Watch the trailer below.
Black Unscripted has shown at the following film festivals:
2020 Indianapolis Black Film Festival, Best Overall Documentary Winner
2020 San Francisco Black Film Festival
2020 BronzeLens Film Festival
2020 International Black Film Festival
2020 Social Justice Now Film Festival by American Black Film Festival

BLACK JOY PARADE - 2020
I worked with the Black Joy Parade (Oakland’s largest free event that celebrates the influence of black culture from the past, of the present, and in the future) to develop branded collateral for the 3rd Annual Black Joy Parade in February 2020.
This project included both digital and print deliverables such as event flyers, signage, certificates, branded luggage tags, and social media graphics.
FROM LOSS 2 LIFE MINISTRIES
I worked with From Loss 2 Life Ministries (a non-profit organization in Oakland that helps people navigate through their losses and life moments spiritually, mentally, and emotionally) to develop the brand’s identity and promote their Annual From Loss 2 Life Gathering event.
This project included digital and print deliverables such as a logo, visual brand style guide, business cards, letterhead, envelopes, greeting cards, email signatures, event flyer, and event journal.
YR MEDIA (FORMERLY YOUTH RADIO)
I worked with the National Network of YR Media (formerly Youth Radio) to develop written and visual content for several campaigns. Here I am showcasing the #MLK50 campaign which commemorated the 50th Anniversary of MLK’s assassination and the #WhyIVote campaign for the 2018 Mid-Term Elections, each of which highlighted youth and young adult voice across the nation on YR Media’s social media platforms and website.
EASTERN STAR CHURCH
As the Communications Coordinator at Eastern Star Church, I was in charge of managing the visual brand through design, digital and traditional marketing.
One specific project I want to highlight is The Share Jesus Now campaign, which launched in March 2017, to challenge the church congregation to invite their unsaved and un-churched family and friends to Eastern Star Church for special worship services. Members were asked to tune into Facebook LIVE videos, share social media posts, read a letter from the pastor to their invitees, write the names of loved ones on a prayer wall at each church location, and take photos of the Share Jesus Now sticker using the hashtag #ShareJesusNow. Designing the look and feel, preparing and organizing the physical elements (printed letter, stickers, and prayer wall), and developing, executing, and managing the social media plan were my responsbilities during this campaign.
